Mr. Praveer Sinha is the CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL). TPDDL is a Public Private Partnership (Joint Venture) of Tata Power and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The company has a registered customer base of 1.4 million and it reaches out to approx. 7 million consumers in North and North-West part of Delhi.
Mr. Sinha has nearly 31 years' experience in developing and setting up Greenfield and Brownfield Power plants in India and abroad and has actively contributed in bringing about huge socio-economic development and changes in these project sites which are mostly in the backward areas of the Indian subcontinent.
Mr. Sinha is extremely passionate towards development and implementation of CSR strategy of the organization resulting into inclusive growth of the society. Under his leadership, TPDDL has created an integrated sustainability model which resulted in multifold increase in the number of CSR programs and related beneficiaries in the national capital.
Mr. Sinha is also a strong votary of usage of technology and smart grid initiatives including demand response, demand side management and roof top solar energy in meeting with the India's rising energy demand. He is actively involved in interfacing with Government of India and Ministries on Policy Issues, Regulations etc. for the sectorial sustenance.
He has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Smart Utilities Group (SUG). The SUG will give Vision, Direction and Focus to address challenges in improving performance of Distribution Utilities by adoption, assimilation and deployment of State of the Art Technologies which is scalable in the Indian context. He is also a Co-chairman of CII Regional Committee on Power Reforms & Renewable Energy, Member of CII Northern Regional Council and also Member of FICCI Task Force on Smart Cities.
He holds a Master's Degree in Business Law from National Law School, Bengaluru and is also professionally trained as an Electrical Engineer. Mr. Sinha is also a Member of the renowned Management Institute - Faculty of Management Studies [FMS], under the aegis of Delhi University.
Arup Ghosh, Senior Advisor

A power sector veteran of four decades, Mr. Arup Ghosh has been with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited [Tata Power-DDL] since November 2005. He has extensive learning in Transmission and Distribution operations, restructuring of the power sector and institutional strengthening of electricity utilities to enable them to cope with regulatory controls. This learning, garnered through association with electricity utilities in India and Mauritius, equips him well to tackle the enormous challenges in reforming the electricity business at Delhi.
As Senior Advisor, Mr. Ghosh advises the CEO&MD on several strategic initiatives and oversees the Information Technology, Business Development, Human Resources, and Administration, Estate Management and Civil functions. He continues to be on the Board of the Company as a Non-Executive Director. Till superannuation in November 2015, Mr. Ghosh was designated as Chief Technical Officer [CTO] and Executive Director and his core responsibilities included Operations, Engineering, Projects, Materials Management, Human Resource, Business Development etc. Mr. Arup anchored the challenging journey of turning around a state owned loss making utility into a commercially viable, independent entity, which emerged as a become a benchmark in efficiency and reliability within the Distribution Sector in India. Mr. Ghosh is a self-confessed team player and firmly believes that it is the team with a responsive leader which would ultimately make the difference and be the force to reckon with.
Between March 2002 and September 2005, as Transmission and Distribution Manager (later as Advisor) at Central Electricity Board, Mauritius, Mr Ghosh was responsible for all T & D matters including Materials Management, Human Resource and Administration. Simultaneously, he anchored the effort to internally restructure the state owned utility to effectively face a regulatory environment. He worked closely with the Government of Mauritius and multilateral financial institutions in framing new legislation that would allow restructuring of the utility sector. During his tenure at Mauritius, the organisation was thoroughly restructured involving major redeployment of Human Resources after training, T & D infrastructure was significantly expanded, operations were almost fully automated and systems were put in place to reduce costs and dramatically improve efficiency. The business environment was also altered with that country's parliament voting into law the required changes in the legal framework.
Prior to Mauritius, Mr. Ghosh was with CESC Ltd. (earlier known as Calcutta Electric Supply Co. Ltd.) from March 1979 to March 2002. In these 23 years his journey included working as a Graduate Engineer Trainee to Deputy General Manager, being associated with almost the entire spectrum of Transmission and Distribution activity at increasing levels of responsibility.
Prior to CESC, Mr. Ghosh had worked for 2 years in the electrical manufacturing industry, initially with The National Insulated Cable Co. of India Ltd. and subsequently with Crompton Greaves Ltd.
Mr. Ghosh is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Subsequently he has received formal training in general management at Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad (MDP), Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata (EDP) and Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur (EDP). He has also received training in regulatory matters from the Institute of Public-Private Partnerships Inc. (IP3), Washington D.C.
Ajay Kapoor, CFO & Chief - Legal & Regulatory

Mr. Ajay Kapoor is the CFO & Chief-Legal & Regulatory and joined Tata Power-DDL in October 2002, when the company had almost started its operations on taking over the erstwhile DVB's distribution business in North and North West Delhi.
Mr. Kapoor is an Honours graduate from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, India. A qualified Chartered Accountant he also holds MBA and LL.B degrees. He has been a rank holder in the CA course, and topper of his batch in MBA for which he was awarded the Gold Medal. He has also attended Executive Education Programs of Stern Business School and Columbia Business School, New York. He was also a participant at Tata Group Strategic Leadership Seminar, apex training programme of Tata Group, conducted by Harvard Business School.
He completed his articled training with M/s. Lovelock and Lewes (Indian associates of erstwhile Coopers & Lybrand - now merged as PwC) and post qualification he has worked with ITC Limited, Hitech Drilling, (a joint venture of Tata Group and Schlumberger of France in the Oil and Gas drilling business), Network Ltd., etc. in a career spanning 30 years. He has extensive experience in all areas of finance, ERP implementations, and has handled matters relating to international collaborations, joint ventures in India and abroad, financial restructuring, policy advocacy, capital raising, and acquisition besides handling legal advisory and has handled electricity litigation matters at all levels/forums for Tata Power-DDL.
During his tenure as CFO, Tata Power-DDL was awarded the 'National Award for Excellence in Cost Management' in the category of "Service Sector with turnover of more than 1,000 Crores" by the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) in 2007 and again in 2013 & 2015. This was for the first time in India that any electricity distribution company was conferred an award for cost management initiatives in India. Mr. Kapoor has been recipient of 'CFO 100 Roll of honour' from CFO India for four years consecutively from 2011 to 2014. In 2015 he was awarded the CFO League of Excellence Award by CFO India. He has also been recognized as Digitalist Top 25 Thought Leaders in India by SAP in 2015. He has been featured in many magazines and journals and is a regular speaker at various forums.

A Management Professional and a Chartered Accountant, Mr. S. K. Saini joined Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) in mid-2004. Besides present responsibilities of heading Commercial Functions, Customer Services, Corporate Social Innovation and Administration, he has also handled Business Process Re-engineering (including full-fledged roll-out of SAP-ISU), Revenue Management & Assurance, Treasury Operations and Business Development including R-APDRP, Corporate Commercial and Regulatory Affairs. Additionally, he has also lead a cross functional team for further reduction of AT&C losses through innovation & technological intervention and enhanced relationship with stakeholders. Under his mentorship, Team Tata Power-DDL developed and implemented a unique business model for bringing the unmetered consumers, from the lowest strata of the society, into the billing net, and the business model fetched the most promising Innovation award under TATA group of companies.
Prior to joining Tata Power-DDL, he has worked for around 22 Years with TATA STEEL handling various Projects, Marketing, Finance, Credit Control and Treasury & Profit Centers.
His reasons for entering the Energy&Power Sector was not a planned one but when the opportunity came, experience of handling Revenue Management and focus on Customer Centricity was identified as his core competence for an utility which was ailing and had revenue leakage of around 53%. After entering in Power Distribution, he feels immensely satisfied to be part of Tata Power-DDL which has sensitized Power Distribution Sector within India and other developing countries on various aspects i.e. Consumers Delight; Loss Reduction; adoption of latest technologies for providing reliable & quality Power Supply, state of art Billing & CRM system, Revenue Enhancement, Corporate Social Innovation for sustainability & improving Customer Relations, Brand Image etc.
Mr. Saini is very passionate about upliftment of neglected / low strata of society. He wishes to devote his time and effort in areas which not only meet organizational objectives but also helps the Nation, e.g., sensitizing State run Power Distribution Utilities towards AT&C Loss reduction, adoption of best in class technologies, Energy Conservation for reducing impact of global warming, contribution and enhancing Consumer Centricity so that reforms under Power Sector can happen in true spirit of letters and words.
He is extremely passionate towards TATA Group's Commitment to Combating Climate Change and is working towards demonstrating the viable Renewable Generation Business Model and DSM portfolio of newly created Business Services Group of TPDDL which includes Roof top Solar, ESCO, Energy Efficiency Implementation Projects etc.

Mr. Sunil Singh Heads the Operations & Safety at Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (formerly North Delhi Power Ltd.) Mr. Singh's core responsibilities are Technical Engineering Projects (Specifications formulation, Project execution at EHV & Distribution level), Complete Network Operations & its maintenance, Safety, Energy Audit, Inspections & Quality assurance pan Tata Power-DDL level including implementation of new products through corporate operation services.
Mr. Singh is an alumnus of IIT (Roorkee) and has more than three decades of experience in the power distribution sector. He has with him extensive learning in Generation, Transmission and Distribution operations. He takes interest in providing technical solution to complex electrical distribution problem through applicable solutions. He is an execution specialist & a result oriented team leader. He has played leading role in CAPEX & OPEX optimization through business process reengineering, manpower realignment & through effective utilization of automation applications. Presently, he is heading roughly 60% of total manpower of Tata Power-DDL (including outsourced manpower). He is passionate about his work & is a motivational team leader. Additionally, he is also a part of various negotiation committees which has resulted in substantial reduction in cost, without compromising on the quality aspect.
He joined Tata Power-DDL in 2004 when AT&C Losses were hovering around 45%. He has served the company in various capacities including District Manager & Circle Head. During his tenure as Circle Head in Sub-Urban Circle (Primarily catering to rural areas of Tata Power-DDL geography), he created benchmark performance standards in AT&C loss reduction in this area. Under his leadership, organization has set new benchmark in loss reduction to sub 10%, a rare feat to achieve in Indian power scenario.
Mr. Singh is determined to set up new benchmarks for the usage of innovative techniques to provide world class services to customers. Quality power supply & improvement in reliability indices is another area where he is focused on. AT&C loss reduction is also up in the merit order.

A power sector veteran with twenty Seven years of experience in power generation and distribution business, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Banga brings with him extensive learning of power sector for strengthening of electrical utilities to meet reliability and AT&C loss reduction target under regulatory regime. This learning, gathered through associations with leading public and private sector electrical utilities in India equips him very well to tackle the enormous challenges of the electricity distribution business in Delhi.
As Chief of Business Development, Power Management, Power System Control & Contracts, his core responsibilities are business development, consultancy services, power procurement, Sub transmission & distribution network planning and contracts management. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Banga has been with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited [Tata Power-DDL] since July 2003 and was part of initial group which transformed the ailing distribution company into a benchmark utility. Mr. Banga firmly believes that difference between a successful company and competitor is the ability to execute plans effectively and leader should be involved in execution as much as he associates himself in strategy planning.
Mr. Banga started his career with NTPC after graduating as engineering trainee and was involved from 1989 to 1995 in the operation & commissioning of super thermal power projects. Prior to joining Tata Power-DDL, Mr. Banga was with Reliance Energy (earlier known as BSES Ltd), he was associated with almost the entire spectrum of generation activity which includes operation, maintenance, Planning , Design and project engineering. His deep knowledge of operational technologies, project Management, utility business processes and regulatory environment makes him a regular speaker in seminars/workshops/panel discussions in India and abroad.
Mr. Banga is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. He has done MBA from FMS, Delhi. He is member of Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) LITD10 core committee for defining standards for power system control and communication and is also an active member of India Smart Grid Task force.

Shiv Ram Bhardwaj is a civil Engineer with vast experience spanning three and a half decades in Engineering, Construction, Contracting, Generation, Interiors & Maintenance. Shiv is heading the Estate Management & Civil functions since January 2012.
Shiv became Assistant Engineer in CPWD in 1983 through Limited Department Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. He joined CWES Group-A services in 1989 through Engineering Services Exam 1987 (yearly competitive exam conducted by UPSC for appointment of Engineering Graduatesinto Central Government Departments). In 1988 ES exam Shiv got selected for IOFS. Subsequently through another competition by UPSC he was selected as AE/AXEN in DESU/DVB. Being a Delhi Centric service he preferred DESU/DVB instead of Central services and joined DESU in Jan 1991.
Shiv has many 1st to his credit in electrical projects. He was the youngest Superintending Engineer in DVB in June 2002. He was in charge of India's 1st 220 KV GIS Sub Station with 220 KV underground cables, at Park-Street New Delhi and also the 1st remote controlled 33 KV S/Stn at Pandav Nagar. He was also the incharge of civil jobs for Hon'ble Supreme Court and monitored electrification Project of Bawana Industrial area in 2000.
Prior to working in electrical utility, Shiv was in CPWD for 12 years and for 15 months in Central Water Commision. During his CPWD tenure he was 1st civil engineer who was associated from survey to supervision of newly started scheme of having permanent housing and offices for Border Security Force in J & K, he also worked in National Highway project and also in design and planning departments from 1986-1989.
Shiv is extremely adaptable to change and has a result oriented attitude and has developed a skill for successfully commissioning half done or left over difficult or mishandled jobs. He is a firm believer that elegancy, economy and speed should move hand in hand.
He also has to his credit the rare achievement of completing AMIE Sec B in 1st Division in the very first attempt itself. He did the Technological Talent Development Programme on Quality Control and Quality Assurance in Concrete Construction from NCB in 1997 and Modern Construction Management by Delhi Productivity Council in 1992. Shiv is also a Member of Institution of Engineers (India).

Mr. Brajamohan Panigrahi, a Graduate Engineer in Electronics & Telecomn and MBA (Finance) by qualification, heads the Internal Audit and Risk Appraisal function at TPDDL.
Well-supported with over 30 years of experience in the field of Internal Auditing, System Analysis & Design including software application development and Electronics/Instrumentation Maintenance in companies of repute like TPDDL, TATA STEEL, TATA SPONGE and HAL, Mr. Panigrahi has made valuable contributions to the company and its strategy time and again.
As Head of Internal Audit & Risk Appraisal Department at TPDDL, he is responsible for providing assurances about the proper functioning of systems & controls to Top Management & Audit Committee, keeping in mind their perceptions and needs with respect to efficiency & effectiveness of controls in the organization, Planning the audits based on risk mapping of activities of various functions of the organization.
While working with Tata Steel (1992-2003), he was instrumental in developing a culture of pre-implementation review of major computerized systems (eg. SAP R/3 & BAAN ERP) thereby ensuring controls are built into processes right from inception of any project. His passion for teaching has enabled him to train all fellow financial auditors to use Computer Assisted Audit techniques (SQL Queries, ABAP Queries etc.) while conducting their audits which resulted significant contribution to the company's bottom line. He had discharged the responsibility of Internal Quality Audit Incharge at Corporate Audit of Tata Steel for the Quality System. As a member from Management side, he was responsible for smooth function of the Joint Departmental Council for Corporate Audit & Finance and Accounts.
He treasures his experiences at Tata Sponge (1986-1992) and HAL (1983-1986) in the field of Maintenance of Electronics equipment and software development.
His professional interests include Consulting, IS Audit and Internal Audit, Business Risk Management and Control Self Assessment, in order of priority.
